AN ARMED burglar has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

26-year-old Richard Rhys Waymouth, of Oystermouth Road, Swansea, was charged with aggravated burglary after entering a home in Cornwallis Way, Monmouth on 10th August while carrying a handgun.

The Beacon reported in August how armed police were called to the address following the crime.

Appearing at Newport Crown Court yesterday (23rd February), Waymouth was sentenced to seven years in prison.
