A MAN has appeared in court charged with the aggravated burglary of a Monmouth home and possession of
a firearm.
Richard Waymouth of Oystermouth Road, Swansea appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on Monday (7th September).
Waymouth has been accused of entering a home in Cornwallis Way, Monmouth on the 10th August this year carrying a handgun or imitation.
Waymouth has been charged with aggravated burglary, possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and robbery.
The 25-year-old has been accused of robbing the owner of the house of a motorbike and keys.
Waymouth is in police custody and will appear at Newport Crown Court on Thursday 24th September for trial.
The Beacon reported last month how armed police were called to the address following the crime. Subsequently Waymouth and a 26-year-old man from the Monmouth area were both arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
Waymouth was returned to police custody after breaching licence conditions.
