A MONMOUTH man has so far raised more than £500 for the town’s Homestart charity, based in Bridges Community Centre.
Dan Morgan has run three half marathons on consecutive weekends, with one left to complete.
In between playing football and work commitments Dan completed the Newport half marathon on the 6th March in a respectable time of 1 hour, 41 minutes, coming 279th out of 1500 runners. He then ran the Bath half marathon on the 13th March, in a time of 1 hour 44 minutes, running with 15,000 runners, and achieved a personal best in the Forest of Dean half marathon on Sunday (20th March) with a time of 1 hour, 40 minutes.
A spokesperson for Homestart said: “Dan has managed to raise more than £500 so far for which we are extremely grateful for and want to thank everyone who has sponsored him.
“Finding other means of raising funds for Home-Start Monmouthshire is vital to continue the valuable support service for families across Monmouthshire, particularly as funding from the Welsh Government through their Families First Programme has been cut by 20 per cent.”
It is not too late to sponsor Dan, to encourage him to complete his challenge with the Cardiff half marathon this weekend.
