EMERGENCY services were called out to four single vehicle car crashes last week with two occurring on the same road on the same day.
On Tuesday 23rd January a crash occurred around 7.40am on the B425 between Rogiet and Magor.
The road was closed for more than two hours causing delays and diversions for traffic, including school buses.
Gwent Police issued an appeal for witnesses, even asking for possible dash cam footage.
The following day (Wednesday 24th January) two crashes occurred on the B4293, the first occurred around 8am near Trellech and a 31-year-old man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were then called out to the same location at 9.41pm later that evening after reports of the vehicle fire.
One vehicle attended to find the car which was involved in the crash earlier that day alight, the fire was subsequently extinguished.
The third incident occurred at approximately 4.10pm on Wednesday. It was another single vehicle road traffic collision, this time occurring on the B4293 between Itton and Devauden.
Then on Friday 27th January the driver of the fourth single vehicle crash had to be airlifted to hospital.
The 39-year-old male sustained serious injuries in the crash on the A48 in front of St Pierre Golf Club in Chepstow.
The passenger, a 23-year-old male was taken to hospital by ambulance.
