The peaceful village of Trellech, shut to traffic since Saturday night following an alleged murder, has now re-opened.

A murder inquiry is now underway following an incident that happened late on Saturday evening when a man was found unconscious and unresponsive by a local man, who immediately performed CPR on him.

But the 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are now following up enquiries into the suspected murder investigation and are currently holding a 40-year-old man in custody.
