He said: “It seems that wild boar are on the march towards Monmouth.
“My wife and I live on the Kymin just below the Roundhouse and twice this week we have awoken to find our lawn devastatingly wrecked.”
The Forestry Commission describes the Forest of Dean population of wild boar as the largest of the breeding populations in England, with an estimate of more than 1,500 animals last recorded in March/April 2016.
