Last Sunday, Transition Monmouth held an extremely successful apple pressing event (pears too!) at St James’ Hall, Wyesham with their new apple pressing equipment. Local, and not so local, residents brought fruit, hundreds of bottles of juice were produced, and a good time was had by all.
We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Wyesham WI for the tea, coffee and lovely cakes they provided, to St James’ Church for allowing us to use their hall, and to Monmouth Town Council for the community grant which part-funded the purchase of the equipment.
Our next apple pressing event is on Sunday 29th September, from 1pm to 4pm at Rockfield Community Centre, Cornwallis Way, Monmouth NP25 5DN. Everyone is welcome to bring their apples and pears for pressing. Please also bring clean bottles for your juice. But also please come if you don’t have any apples or pears as you might be able to take away surplus juice; a small donation would be appreciated.
