THE UK dairy industry has paid tribute to the outstanding contribution from one of its best-known figures, Lyndon Edwards, owner of Hanley Farm Shop at Tidenham and adjoining 670 acre organic dairy farm.
Receiving the Dairy UK award from noted journalist Andrew Neil at this year’s Annual Dinner Lyndon said: “I am honoured to receive the prestigious Dairy UK award and am proud to follow in the footsteps of the men and women who have done so much to help the UK dairy industry thrive. I am passionate about the work I do and want to thank everyone who has made it possible for me to contribute to and promote the sector over the years.”
Dr Judith Bryans, chief executive of Dairy UK, said: “Lyndon’s passion for the industry is clear to everyone who knows him. His tireless efforts to promote the UK dairy sector coupled with his past leadership of Dairy UK’s Farmers’ Forum, of which he remains a valued and active member, make him a worthy recipient of the 2018 Dairy UK award.
“Lyndon is a real asset to the dairy sector and is a brilliant example of a progressive, dynamic, innovative and successful dairy farmer and a true ambassador for British dairying."
Just a matter of days later Lyndon heard the news that he had also been made a Fellow of the prestigious Royal Agricultural Society.
Hanley Farm Shop with its Café, Deli and Butchery, is located on the A48 at Tidenham, just outside Chepstow.
