A 51-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court in connection with the stabbing of a Chepstow resident last Tuesday (25th November).

John Way of St Lawrence Park, Chepstow, is charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a knife, assault and assault by beating, and appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on 27th November.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Newport Crown Court next Thursday (11th December).

The incident on 25th November occurred in a house in Woolpitch Wood.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck and shoulder, and has since been released from hospital.
