CHEPSTOW Castle became a temporary diving platform on Thursday as former olympic diver Blake Aldridge dove into the River Wye.
Ahead of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Wales event this weekend in Pembrokeshire, the 34-year-old warmed up by using the 26m high walls of the historic castle.
Mr Aldridge leaped at the opportunity to dive off the unique setting which showcased how versatile the sport is when it comes to location.
He said:“That’s the beauty of cliff diving. We only need a high take-off spot with a stretch of water below to showcase our sport.”
Mr Aldridge competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the men’s 10m synchronised platform diving alongside diving partner Tom Daley.
