TWELVE-year-old Charlie Davies from Chepstow’s St John’s on-the-Hill school had the nervous job of opening his GCSE maths results early this month.
Four years early to be precise.
Year 8 pupil Charlie opened his iGCSE results to receive the ‘fantastic news’ of being awarded an A; just missing out on the A* by one mark!
Mr Allen, Head of Mathematics at St John’s, said: “Receiving an A at the age of 16 is a fantastic achievement, but to do it at the age of 12 and with only eight months’ preparation is truly staggering; an outstanding reward for the incredible amount of work in school and at home. Congratulations Charlie!”
Charlie has always had an interest in maths. In addition to his school lessons, he did one to two hours of maths homework every day after school, before taking the exam in October.
