TOP foodie Rick Stein is heading to Monmouth's Savoy Theatre later this month to talk about his BBC 2 TV series and new book – Rick Stein’s Food Stories.
"Over my 55-year career, I’ve seen British cuisine transform. What we have now is an amalgam of our own rich repertoire of dishes, and the food and flavours of so many different cultures from the people who have made Britain their home – from meat and two veg to Pad Thai noodles," says Rick.
"We have today what I believe is one of the most exciting cuisines in the world."
Rick’s passion for using good-quality local produce and his talent for creating delicious recipes in his books and restaurants have won him a host of awards, accolades and fans.
As well as presenting numerous television series, he has published many bestselling cookbooks, including French Odyssey, Coast to Coast, Far Eastern Odyssey, Rick Stein’s Long Weekends, Rick Stein’s India and most recently Rick Stein’s Simple Suppers.
He has always believed in showcasing local seafood and farm produce in his four restaurants in Padstow, Cornwall, where he also has a cookery school, food shops and a pub in the nearby village of St Merryn.
Rick, who was awarded a CBE for services to the economy in 2018, will signing books at the Savoy on Wednesday, September 25 at 7pm. Tickets £15 are available via rossiterbooks.co.uk
