ONCE upon a time, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves met Puss in Boots – and they all lived happily ever after!

That was certainly the case at the Year 5 and 6 showcase night at St John's-on-the-Hill school.

Performing to a packed main hall, the Chepstow school pupils wowed the audience with their acting and singing skills, leaving one parent to remark that it was "the best night's entertainment she'd had in years".

Taking to the stage first, Year 5 told the story of how Puss – played by Phoebe McCouaig, aged 10 – sought fame and riches on the streets of London.

This was swiftly followed by year 6 taking their turn to recount how Snow White – played by Isabelle Sales-Hill, aged 10 – was eventually saved from the clutches of the Evil Queen (Grace Lingwood, also 10).
