OVER 60 tractors put the festive fun into a tractor run over the weekend to raise funds for a good cause.
The event was organised to raise money for the air ambulance service in memory of 19-year-old Ashley, who died last year in tragic circumstances.
He was involved in an incident two days after Christmas Day near Mitchel Troy. The Wales Air Ambulance attended the crash, but Ashley was pronounced dead at the scene.
His mum, Olwyn has raised more than £10,000 in total for the service, and is adding another £1,200 following the tractor run last Saturday, 8th December.
She said: “I decided to donate the money to the air ambulance as Ashley did a project on the charity at school,” she said.
“I would like to thank Steph, Stuart and Tom for the very kind organisation of this event and for providing the venue at The Hall Inn, Gwehelog”. Ashley’s grandmother, auntie and uncles were there to support the event. His uncle Bryan said that it was touching to see so many tractors supporting the event. “It brings a tear to the eye to see so many here today,” he said.
