The annual bonfire and firework display organised by Rotary Monmouth with the support of Monmouth Town Council was another spectacular success on Sunday, November 5.
The gates opened at 6pm with the town’s mayor, Cllr Tom Kirton lighting the fire at 6.30pm whilst the crowds had a chance to grab a burger or drink before the main event began at 7pm.
The event raised in the region of £4,000.
All money raised from the event will be donated to charitable organisations supported by Monmouth Rotary Club.
In the past, the club has supported St David’s Hospice Care, Velindre Breast Cancer Research Team, HospitaShelter boxes, The Monmouth schools literary festival, Macmillan Nurses, Wales Air Ambulance, Bridges Community Centre and also many other smaller charities and good causes.
