A highly successful and enjoyable evening was held at the Misbah Tandoori in Monmouth on Sunday February 26.
A magnificent buffet consisting of many traditional Bangladeshi dishes were served to a gathering of 33 people.
Among the guests was the Mayor of Monmouth (Councillor Alice Fletcher).
Mr Miah wanted to both raise funds and bring people’s attention to the plight of the of victims after the devastating affects of the earthquake in Turkey-Syria.
Millions of people lack the necessary essentials to survive after their homes have been destroyed by this catastrophic event.
Mr Miah managed to achieve both goals by not only raising £700 but also giving those who attended a really fun evening with the usual excellent food and service.
Mr Miah thanks everyone who donated, bought raffle tickets and joined the buffet night to make this cause successful.
Mr Miah and his family who have lived in Monmouth for 33 years, have been heavily involved in many community and charity activities, having previously raised money for the Bangladesh flood victims, Pakistan flood victims, Rohingya Crisis, Haiti disaster, Hands around the world, Monovic, Saint Briavels Centre for Children, Cancer Research UK, British heart foundation, Monmouth Mayor’s Funds and local schools to name a few.
The next charity event for the Mayor of Monmouth will be held soon.
