A FUNDRAISING campaign to buy a specially designed tricycle for eight-year-old Freya Daunter, who suffers from Williams Syndrome, has raised its target of more than £2,000.
Eight-year-old Freya’s condition means that she cannot ride conventional bicycles, but after successfully test riding the specially designed ‘fizz trike’ her parents Ray and Jo began a campaign to fundraise the amount needed.
It took 18 days and 59 donations, but the trike, chosen in a vibrant purple, has now been ordered.
The trike will be hand-crafted by the Gloucester-based company Tomcat Special Needs Innovations over an eight week period before being delivered to Freya.
Freya’s father Ray said: “Freya is over the moon, absolutely ecstatic.
“When she found out we had enough for the bike she was so excited.
“She’s been hoping every postal package through the door is her bike.
“It’s been a fantastic response, we really couldn’t have asked for more.
“A big thank you to everyone who has made her dream come true.”
