Puppetry, magic and storytelling combine in a stunning adaptation of the best-selling novel Life of Pi which will be shown on the big screen of The Blake Theatre on Thursday 30th March.
After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, a 16-year-old boy named Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with four other survivors – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal tiger. Time is against them, nature is harsh, who will survive?
Featuring state-of-the-art visuals, the stunning theatrical show features a menagerie of animals in a show visually reminiscent of War Horse. Based on Yann Martel’s whimsical bestseller about a boy trapped on a raft with a tiger, Life of Pi is an epic multi award-winning play captured live in London’s West End.
NT Live: Life of Pi, described by The Daily Mail as “a wonder to behold” begins at 7pm on Thursday 30th January. Tickets can be obtained from theblaketheatre.org or The Blake Theatre Box office on 01600 719401.
