Last week, the Welsh Conservative Member for Monmouth, visited the Preservation Society, a small family business involved in making preserves and contributing to the local community.
The Preservation Society has been working with the Size of Wales organisation to look at school meals, their carbon footprint and how we can eat more sustainable local food.
The society has also been involved with projects in Torfaen schools and Caerphilly and would like to expand the scope of their involvement through teaching.
Commenting on his visit, Peter Fox said: “It was an absolute pleasure visiting the Preservation Society, seeing the inspirational work they do, especially the part they play in supporting projects with our young people.
“It is projects like this that drew me into pushing for a Food Bill here in Wales, ensuring we have legislation that targets these aims.
“It is incredibly important that we teach our young people the importance of sustainable healthy food and I look forward to seeing more projects involving this great cause.”
