A CHEQUE for £1,000 was presented to Wales Air Ambulance (WAA) on Saturday after a successful fundraising event.
Georgina Peace and Katie and Dean de Ste Croix-Stewart were proud to organise a special showing earlier this year of the film ‘Dr Zhivago’ at the Savoy theatre, Monmouth to raise funds for WAA.
Launched on St David’s Day 2001, Wales Air Ambulance is the official air ambulance service for Wales, including the Children’s Wales Air Ambulance, a specialist division to provide expert care for some of Wales’ youngest patients. Their vision is to provide a 24-hour standby operation so they can help people both day and night to help protect human lives.
WAA relies entirely on donations to raise the £6.5 million each year to keep their helicopters flying, which is why fundraising is so important.
The organisers would like to thank everyone who came to see the film, as well as the manager and staff of the Savoy Theatre, for all their generous help and support.
