The All Wales Ploughing and Hedging Championships held a week ago in Montgomeryshire in Powys saw a former world champion from Monmouthshire recognised for his skill.
Raglan ploughman Tony Bradley was awarded the Monmouthshire Perpetual Cup for the best work by a Monmouthshire ploughman and came fourth in a strong field of competitors in the Vintage Hydraulic Class.
In 2007, Tony was a reserve coach in the competition held in Lithuania.
The Welsh Ploughing Association was first set up in 1958 to hold an annual All Wales Ploughing and Hedging Championships Match and to help encourage ploughing and hedging within the principality. The association currently has twenty-six ploughing societies affiliated to it.
Llangattock-Vibon-Avel Ploughing Society is one of them.
The All Wales Championships 60th event will be hosted by Monmouthshire next year at Llancayo Farm near Usk on 19th September 2020.
