Helen McPherson, wife of Dr Dick McPherson, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 14 at home. She was aged 89 years.

Helen was born in Dulwich, London and trained as a physiotherapist at Guy’s Hospital.

The moved to Monmouth with her family more than 50 years ago and worked as a physio for many years at Monmouth hospital.

Helen was a very active member of the community and is known to many people.

She enjoyed golf, tennis and music for many years and was a member of local clubs.

These included Penalt and Monmouth tennis clubs, a member and at one time captain at Monmouth and the Rolls golf clubs.

Helen also set up Mitchell Troy church choir and she played the organ at St Maughans church and was a loyal supporter of Monmouth Aid.

She is survived by her husband, Dr Dick McPherson and family.

There will be a private cremation with a funeral service due to take place on March 9 at St Maughans church at 11.15am.
