An UPRIGHT piano was found tipped on its side and visibly damaged in the Wyesham community wood on Friday morning.
The piano was used as part of a youth week put on by the Salvation Army, together with pupils from Monmouth School for Boys.
The youth week called ‘worship in the woods’ included worship and prayer as well as the gathering getting their fingers green by maintaining the community woods. It was part of their plans to take the church outside.
Before the damage was done, the piano had been placed there, not only for the purposes of worship but also for any passing pianists to express their musical talents.
No reports were made to Gwent Police in regards to the vandalism.
