Solid batting by the early pairs laid a good foundation for the fireworks which followed when Seth Butler strode to the crease. Five boundaries in a score of 22 off 18 balls matched anything the IPL could offer, at least for entertainment value, and in a sign of his increasing maturity Seth didn’t spoil it all by getting out. Good contributions by Wales pair Will Heath and Hugo Caldicott saw Llanarth post a decent score with only one wicket lost amongst the whole team.
The task always looked too much for Chepstow once their good opening partnership was halted by Dan Moseley who took two wickets in an over. Further wickets from Joe Harrison and Hugo continued to check the Chepstow score and two run-outs, including a direct hit from 10 yards affected by wicket-keeper Tom Perks, only served to widen the margin of victory.
