Gwent County League Division Three - Crickhowell 3 Severn Tunnel 4
SEVERN Tunnel recorded another fine victory on the road, bringing all three points back from storm-lashed Crickhowell, despite travelling with only one substitute.
Following excellent victories at Rhymney and at home to local rivals Caldicot Castle, Tunnel survived a late scare to hold on to victory.
“We took a 2-0 lead and 10 minutes from time we were 4-1 up,” assistant manager Marcus Jenkins said.
“We fell asleep and Crickhowell scored twice but we held out, with Tom Atkins putting in a man-of-the-match performance in defence to top off his birthday week.”
Tunnel’s goals came from Luke James, Marc Carter-Selwood, Jack Harrison and Chris Taylor.
Severn Tunnel were due to entertain West of St Julians last night and will visit lowly Cefn Fforest on Saturday.
