A HOCKEY club is opening up to try and introduce new players to the game with its second annual free event.
Ross on Wye Hockey Club’s HockeyFest 2016 will see the club host a range of events for potential new hockey players. The day, open to those ages five to 16, will include fun activities, drills and round-robin tournaments, all suited for the age categories and abilities.
As part of the England Hockey Campaign, clubs from all across England and Wales are opening up their Hockey Clubs to introduce new players to the game and even encourage ex-players to pick up their sticks and shin pads again.
HockeyFest will take place on 10th September at Monmouth Leisure Centre. Registration is from 10.30am with a prompt start at 11am, and the day will be finishing with a prize giving ceremony at 1pm.
To sign up, visit the Ross Hockey website and fill out the booking form online. The participants will be split into ages and abilities so everyone can get the right level of coaching on the day. There will even be spare sticks available if needed. There are prizes to be won and lots of cake to be eaten. So bring your youngsters along and Try Hockey!
Participants are encouraged to sign up before the event to secure a place. To sign up, visit the Ross Hockey website and fill out the booking form online at www.rosshockey.org.uk/hockeyfest-2016 or email [email protected] to ask any further questions.
Ross on Wye Hockey Club was established in 1898 and has two men’s teams, a ladies team and a very large junior squad. They train in both Monmouth and Ross on Wye from September to June.
