Monmouth Town's Welsh Cup last 16 game against Porthmadog was a washout as the torrential rain last Friday put paid to most sport in the region.
With the Sgorio TV cameras ready to roll at the Sports Ground atop a specially-built TV gantry, the Kingfishers were preparing for possibly their largest home crowd in a number of years but the rain put paid to that.
The rearranged match this Saturday is already under threat – leaving Town to possibly concede home advantage and switch the fixture to Porthmadog, in accordance with FAW cup rules.
Monmouth, sponsored by WyeMedia, already know their potential quarter final opponents emerging last out of the hat in the televised draw which followed last Saturday's surviving cup fixtures as they were pitched against Welsh Premier outfit Newtown FC, who themselves need to win their postponed game against high flying Lock Stock Alliance team Holywell Town.
Town's chairman Lee Robson was playing down the possible quarter final tie but was keen to get the home match played this Saturday.
"I was desperately disappointed that the game was postponed last Saturday but not surprised," he said.
"We really need it to happen this week however as the FAW rules say if there are two postponements we then have to switch the fixture.
"The loss of home advantage is bad enough but I was hoping for a large crowd to get behind us. Wherever we end up playing, it'll be a great game."
The game is now scheduled to take place this Saturday (8th February) at 2pm.
