CHEPSTOW Town Council and Monmouthshire County Council has said the Wales Coast Path is to close on March 3 due to “unsafe trees’”.
Chepstow is the official starting or finishing line of the famous path and the route then follows the coast along the Gwent Levels and the Severn Estuary.
A Monmouthshire County Council spokesperson said: “Due to unsafe trees, part of the Wales Coast Path is being closed, at Warren Slade. The closure will remain in force for 21 days or until the path has been safe.”
Warren Slade is a woodland in Thornwell, on the southeast edge of Chepstow. An alternative route from Raglan Way is available.
