SIR, After an overwhelming show of disapproval and lack of support by local residents and townspeople for the development of the land near Dixton roundabout you would feel that "that was that". All the reasons against this development have been clearly and sensibly put forward. Let's be clear, the developers and backers are only in it for the money and have little interest in Monmouth town. If it goes ahead you will never see them again, but the residents of Monmouth and other towns and villages must make their feelings clear about what happens in their areas. If the Dixton site was ever to be developed, why not have a new up-to-date ambulance and fire station centre there. The present one will soon be surrounded by more than 200 extra vehicles using an already congested Rockfield Road. Just a thought. RW Bradley (Monmouth)
